Privacy policy

This policy explains what information Four Directions Technologies, Inc. (“Four Directions,” “we”) collects through this website, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Information you give us

When you use a form on this site (Talk to an engineer, Request a quote or Contact), we collect what you enter: your name, company, email address, phone number and the details of your request.

Please don’t include passwords, credentials, Controlled Unclassified Information, protected health information or other sensitive regulated information in a form. If a project involves sensitive data, describe it in general terms. That data stays in your environment; we work with it there rather than having it sent to us.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, the servers that host this site record basic technical information about each visit, such as IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time. Our hosting provider keeps these logs according to its own schedule.

To prevent spam and abuse, our forms keep a one-way coded version of your IP address for about ten minutes. The address itself isn’t stored with your request.

Cookies and tracking

This site doesn’t use advertising or analytics cookies, and it doesn’t track you across other websites. Fonts and images are served from this site rather than loaded from third parties. WordPress sets cookies only for people who sign in to manage the site.

How we use information

  • To respond to your inquiry and prepare quotes and proposals
  • To provide and support services you engage us for
  • To keep ordinary records of business communications
  • To protect the site and our systems from abuse
  • To meet legal obligations

When you submit a form, we send you a confirmation by email and notify our team by email.

How we share information

We don’t sell your information or share it for advertising. We share it only:

  • with service providers that help us operate, such as our website host and our email provider, who process it on our behalf;
  • with suppliers when needed to fulfill a purchase or service you’ve asked for, for example to register a warranty with a manufacturer;
  • with your consent; or
  • when required by law.

How long we keep it

We keep inquiry records as long as needed to respond, to serve you if you become a client, and to maintain ordinary business records. You can ask us to delete your information at any time; copies may remain in backups for a limited period before they’re overwritten.

Security

We protect information with encryption in transit (HTTPS), access controls and by limiting who can see inquiries. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, which is one reason we ask you not to send sensitive regulated information through forms.

Your choices

You can ask what information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or ask us to stop contacting you. Use our contact form or call us; we may need to confirm your identity first. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law.
