Engineering Workstations
Workstations specified for the software you actually run, whether that’s CAD, simulation, development, data or AI work, on Windows or Linux, with the setup, security and support to match.
- Solution
- Engineering Workstations
- Covers
- Specification, procurement, configuration, security and lifecycle support
- Serves
- Onsite in New Mexico; remote engineering nationwide
Start with the workload
The right workstation depends on what limits your software. Spending on the wrong component is the most common, and most expensive, mistake.
| Workload | What usually limits performance | What we look at first |
|---|---|---|
| 3D CAD and modeling | Single-threaded processor speed and graphics driver support | A high-clock-speed processor and a professional GPU with drivers certified for your application |
| Simulation (FEA, CFD) | Core count, memory capacity and memory bandwidth | A many-core processor and plenty of memory, with every memory channel populated |
| Rendering and visualization | GPU performance and GPU memory | One or more high-end GPUs with enough memory for your largest scenes |
| Software development | Build parallelism and storage speed | Core count, fast NVMe storage, and memory for virtual machines and containers |
| Data analysis | Memory capacity and storage throughput | Large memory, fast local storage and a good network path to your data |
| Running AI models locally | GPU memory, above all | GPU memory sized to the models you plan to run, then power and cooling |
Beyond the box
Displays and docking
Resolution, color accuracy and the number of screens the work needs, plus docks that work reliably with your laptops.
Storage and data
Fast local scratch space, sensible shared storage and a backup plan for project data.
Windows or Linux
Both, matched to the application. Some engineering and development tools run best on Linux; many CAD packages are Windows-only. Linux and open source
Remote work
Remote access to a powerful desk-side workstation, or virtual workstations, so heavy data stays where it is.
Security and management
Encryption, endpoint management and patching from day one, and CUI-ready configurations where contracts require them. CMMC and CUI environments
Lifecycle and warranty
On-site warranty options, spares and refresh planning, so one failed machine doesn’t stop a project.
How it works
- Profile Your applications, data sizes and how people actually work.
- Specify Configuration options at different price points, with the tradeoffs explained.
- Quote A written quote for the hardware and any services you want.
- Configure Imaged, updated, secured and tested before it reaches the desk.
- Support Warranty coordination, changes and upgrades.
Questions we hear
Can you guarantee our software will run?
We check your software vendor’s published requirements and certified hardware lists, and we size to them. Final compatibility depends on the software vendor, so we flag anything uncertain before you buy.
Laptop or desktop?
Desktops give more performance, cooling and upgrade room for the money. Mobile workstations make sense when people genuinely work in several places; for heavy simulation or rendering, a desk-side machine with remote access is often the better choice.
Which brands do you work with?
We’re vendor-neutral and specify business-class equipment from major manufacturers based on the requirement, support options and availability.
Can you set machines up before delivery?
Yes. We can install your applications and settings, apply security configuration and enroll machines in management so they’re ready to use on day one.
